Albania’s KESH invites bids for dam alarm system, revitalization

Albania’s power utility KESH has invited bids for the construction of the dam alarm system on the Drin River Cascade and for the revitalization of the Gjocaj dam of the Vau i Dejes hydropower plant (HPP).
The overhaul of the Gjocaj dam and installation of the alarm system will be financed with funds secured by the state-owned power company KESH.

Tenders for the alarm system must be delivered by August 28, while funds for the project are limited at ALL 75 million (almost EUR 600,000), KESH said in a tender notice published by Albania’s Public Procurement Agency.

The alarm system installation must be completed within 12 months of contract signing.

Bids for the revitalization of the Gjocaj dam must be submitted by August 17, while the funds are limited at ALL 22.8 million (almost EUR 181,000), KESH said in a tender notice.

The best bidder will have 6 months to get the job done.

The Drin River Cascade comprises the Fierze, Koman, Vau i Dejes, and Ashta hydropower plants. HPP Vau i Dejes was the first hydropower plant built on the Drin River and was put in operation 48 years ago.
