SOFIA (Bulgaria), January 3 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s state-owned National Electricity Company, NEK, has opened a tender for the rehabilitation of pumped-storage hydro power plant (HPP) Chaira, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday.

Subject to the tender are all activities and components of the engineering service such as design, manufacture, delivery, dismantling, repair-restoration and other, the EBRD said in a statement.

Part of the contract will be financed with the proceeds of a grant from the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), administered by the EBRD.

The tender is part of a project for the rehabilitation of Belmeken – Sestrimo – Chaira Hydro Complex, Vacha-1 HPP 110 kV switchyard and other HPP systems of integrated control.

The deadline for submitting technical proposals is April 23.

In September 2017, the EBRD said NEK has launched a tender for the rehabilitation of Momina Klisura and Sestrimo hydro power plants (HPPs) and Belmeken pumped storage HPP.
