Montenegrin state-controlled power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) [MNG:EPCG] plans to invest 3.26 million euro ($3.72 million) in the overhaul of five small hydropower plants (HPPs), it said.

The company plans to call a tender for the reconstruction of Rijeka Crnojevica, Podgor, Lijeva Rijeka, Savnik and Rijeka Musovica HPPs in the third quarter of 2019, EPCG said in a statement on Sunday.

The project aims to raise the level of automation and remote control of the five hydropower plants and to extend their service life, EPCG said.

The preparation of the project documentation will take eight months to complete, the company added.

The combined installed capacity of the five hydropower plants is 2.5 MW and their projected annual output is 5.5 million kWh.
